supporting your family through
life's most challenging events
Haven Coping is a child life specialist community practice that was founded to broaden access to beneficial patient- and family-centered psychosocial care, providing compassionate, individualized support to the children & families they serve.
Child life services support children by helping them cope with challenging life events through play, education, and emotional support. These services aim to reduce anxiety, promote resilience, and provide age-appropriate resources to help children understand and navigate difficult situations.
Haven Coping supports pediatric patients and children of adult patients by addressing their emotional, developmental and psychosocial needs.
About Haven Coping
Founded by child life specialist Hannah Dean, Haven Coping offers compassionate care beyond hospital walls, supporting families personally or in collaboration with community organizations. By starting Haven Coping, Hannah made it possible for children and families to receive child life services without the need for hospitalization or medical appointments.

Hannah holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Vanderbilt University and is a certified child life specialist. She became a death doula to further her understanding of death and dying before founding Haven Coping in 2022. With over 10 years of clinical experience, she has provided emotional and psychosocial support to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.

Hannah is married, a mom of two toddlers, and an avid animal lover who enjoys eating pasta, being outdoors, and relaxing on rainy days.
